What are you going to do?

Are you ready for a data challenge? Enza Zaden is currently on a mission to be the most data savvy and data driven breeding company in the world and therefore we’re looking for you, a Data Engineer. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the data platform for analytics & reporting usage and the data ingest pipelines.

Inside Enza Zaden, we are working with the Azure stack, so it’s important that you are know you’re way around the Azure products and services. You will design, develop, build, test and maintain a stable data platform and data products that reside on the data platform (e.g., data ingest pipelines, monitoring, data access management, data quality measurements). The platform and its data products should be as standardized and automated as much as possible.

Furthermore, you will continuously improve the data platform and the data products to guarantee the optimal usage of the platform (e.g., data reliability, efficiency and quality). You work on making the platform and its products future proof (Life Cycle Management). Next to that, you’re monitoring and reporting the usage and costs of the data platform and it’s data products. You make sure the platform and its products comply to the Enza security standards.

You use your communication skills to give support and advice to the users of the platform about the optimal usage of the data platform and its products. You’re responsible for handling user requests and solving incidents as well. Finally, you love to educate and inform other data professionals and business stakeholders about the data platform, data products and available tooling.

In this role you will work together in an agile environment with your colleagues of the Smart Data Platform team, architecture and infrastructure departments. You keep in touch with data professionals in other data teams and projects and external partners to determine how we can stay up-to-date with new trends and developments.

In our professional team full with passionate engineers we are looking for an Data Engineer who has multiple years’ experience with building and managing data pipelines. You know the best practices like infrastructure as code and automating deployments. You know how to communicate and collaborate with our stakeholders. To meet the job requirements, you?

·        have a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience with building and managing data pipelines in Azure

·        are familiar with the Azure data stack

·        are proficient in Python, SQL and not afraid of using other (scripting) languages if needed

·        love to brainstorm with your team and IT stakeholders on what the ideal designs are

·        are proficient in the English and Dutch, both written and verbal

·        are currently living in the Netherlands. Working from home is possible, but we expected you to work at Enza Zaden office in Enkhuizen for at least two days per week
