A strong global marketing and product portfolio organization starts with translating customer and market needs into a clear, forward-looking strategy that drives long-term growth. In this role as VP Marketing & Product Portfolio, you will shape that strategy in a complex, global environment where innovation, data, and commercial execution come together. You will have the space to connect customer insights, innovation pipelines, and portfolio decisions into one coherent global direction. Make a difference as VP Marketing & Product Portfolio

As VP Marketing & Product Portfolio, you play a key role in defining and executing Enza Zaden’s global product vision, portfolio strategy, and marketing direction. You work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, the Executive Team, and regional and functional leaders to ensure strong alignment between customer insights, innovation priorities, and commercial execution. Your work directly impacts portfolio decisions, demand planning, and go-to-market priorities across regions and Business Dynamics. In this role, you translate strategy into execution that drives sustainable and profitable growth across the global organization.

 

In this role, your work will include:

  • Defining and executing the global product vision, portfolio strategy, and marketing direction;

  • Leading and developing a high-performing global Marketing & Product Portfolio organization, including capability building and succession planning;

  • Translating company strategy into multi-year and annual plans (OGSM), aligned with budgets and execution frameworks;

  • Leading global demand forecasting and portfolio planning to support financial planning, capacity decisions, and go-to-market execution;

  • Steering global marketing strategy and programs in close collaboration with Sales and other functions;

  • Representing Enza Zaden externally with customers and industry partners to strengthen insights and market positioning.

 

What you bring as our future colleague

As VP Marketing & Product Portfolio, you bring strong strategic leadership and the ability to connect long-term vision with practical execution. You know how to align senior stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment and translate diverse perspectives into clear strategic choices. You combine customer insight, analytical thinking, and commercial judgment to drive impact across global markets and teams.

 

In addition, you have:

  • A Master’s degree and 15+ years of relevant international leadership experience in marketing, product management, portfolio strategy or related commercial disciplines, preferably within the agricultural, seed, horticultural, or other innovation-driven industries;

  • Experience working in global, complex, matrixed and/or dual-leadership organizations;

  • Strong strategic and commercial track record in driving growth and performance;

  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation;

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level;

  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.

You can also count on:

  • A position for 38 hours per week;

  • A gross annual salary between € 158,041.90 and € 225,774.15 (Scale 17), based on a full-time workweek of 38 hours and aligned with your knowledge and experience; this salary range is based on the Netherlands compensation framework and may be adjusted locally for other countries in line with market practice and local grading structures.

  • An attractive annual bonus program of 25%;
