Shipping Specialist

As Shipping Specialist, you play an essential role in the logistics process of Enza Zaden's Seed Operations organization. The Transportation Planning Department contributes to the smooth and trouble-free handling of import and export shipments, with a strong focus on efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.

Your tasks include planning transportation routes, arranging freight transportation, preparing shipping documentation and maintaining contact with all parties involved. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our logistics processes and maximizing customer satisfaction.

You will work closely with various internal departments, external carriers and customers to ensure smooth and timely delivery of our products. You will do this in a team of 8 people.

You keep yourself informed of the internal and external requirements regarding import and export, both in terms of customs formalities and phytosanitary (country) requirements and guidelines. As an extension of this, you ensure that the work instructions of the processes remain up to date.

Daily you maintain contact with multiple carriers regarding new and already shipped shipments. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude, in which you find it a challenge to be involved daily in identifying and solving logistical challenges.

So you;

-          Mainly processes import and export orders in an ERP system, performs invoice verification and provides related documents and certificates;

-          Coordinates all shipping activities, including transportation planning and freight arrangement of our seeds around the world;

-          Liaises with growers and producers, logistics service providers at home and abroad, embassies, inspection authorities and the Chamber of Commerce;

-          In conjunction with Distribution, coordinates the shipment of orders;

-          Is responsible for drawing up the correct documents in accordance with the laws and regulations concerning import and export of seeds;

-          Supports the Customer Services colleagues and works together with Distribution.

Job requirements

You have a practical and customer-oriented attitude, are proactive and function well in a team as well as independently. Given the international nature of the function you have good oral and written communication skills in English, Dutch is an advantage.

In this varied and hectic position, you must also be able to work accurately.

In short, you:

-          have hbo working and thinking level but should at least be in possession of a mbo-4 diploma, preferably in the direction of Logistics and/or Supply Chain management, with several years of work experience in a similar position. We also cordially invite recent Hbo graduates to apply;

-          excellent knowledge of shipping processes, transport legislation and customs regulations; having knowledge of air freight is a big plus.

-          Have some knowledge of or experience with phytosanitary regulations, and trade agreements; Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.

-          Have excellent you communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
