Make a difference as Researcher Micropropagation
As a Researcher Micropropagation at Enza Zaden, you will pioneer projects in in vitro plant propagation. Using methods like somatic embryogenesis, organogenesis, and cell suspension culture-based systems, you will contribute to the development of protocols that advance our breeding programs. Your work will involve close collaboration with other Cell Technology experts, as well as cross-functional teams in Biotechnology and Breeding, to create innovative solutions for vegetable variety development.
Your tasks will include:
Developing and implementing in vitro techniques, including somatic embryogenesis, de novo shoot organogenesis and cell suspension culture;
Leading research projects focused on advanced plant regeneration systems;
Working closely with interdisciplinary teams to translate your research into scalable applications for breeding programs.
Your work environment will be the Cell Technology (CT) department, where we collaborate with Biotechnology and Breeding to deliver plants with varied genetic value. Our core areas include plant growth, double haploid production, micropropagation, plant transformation, genome editing, and more.
What you bring as a future colleague
PhD in (green) life sciences or MSc with 5+ years’ experience in plant biology;
Skilled in a broad range of in vitro cell and tissue methodologies;
Knowledge of micropropagation and plant cell suspension culture techniques;
Proven experience in project management;
Hands-on and passionate for plant development and cell biology;
Strong skills in innovation scouting and practical technology application;
Fluent English and comfortable working in an international team.
