Life Cycle Assessment Modeler LCA

As an LCA Modeler you will play a key role in further developing and improving the inhouse AtSource Digital Footprint Calculator (DFC). With your methodology and coding skills, you help to fast track the development of the DFC to make sure it is aligned with the most relevant standards, allows for granular measurement of footprints and for developing insights.

In this role, you will work within a LCA team and collaborate with other experts in Sustainability, Verification and Technology. You will be part of the AtSource Team, which is part of ofi Sustainability. 

AtSource is ofi’s award winning sustainability management system for agricultural supply chains, purposefully created to demonstrate social and environmental impact and drive change for farmers, communities and ecosystems. 
 

• Maintain and develop LCA models to ensure they reflect ofi/Olam’s production and sustainability efforts;
• Work with the digital team to ensure LCA models are digitised by supporting Digital with drafted codes;
• Use expertise in modelling to produce insights that are relevant to customers and internal stakeholders;
• Drive the advancement of LCA modelling on Land Use Change, Allocation, Recycling, Processing while also contribute to modelling of other LCA topics;
• Be an expert on external developments in the field of LCA, European regulations, standards and policies (PEFCR, PEF, EPD, Verra, Gold standards etc.);
• Document foot printing methodologies and processes to enable replicability and verification;
• Perform LCA studies when needed;
• Be the point of contact for technical questions relating to LCA in ofi/Olam.

We are searching for a candidate who is passionate about the power of sustainability measurement and data and with experience in agri-food supply chains.

• Educated to Masters/PhD level in Life Cycle Assessment, Industrial Ecology, Environment Sciences or similar;
• Minimum 5 years of LCA and agriculture-related modeling;
• Proven experience in coding with GIS-related databases, Python, Java, SQL and Angular framework;
• Knowledge of foot printing standards (e.g: GHG Protocol, PEF, Verra, Gold Standards) and environmental product declarations; 
• Fluency in English (oral and written), other languages (French, Portuguese, Spanish) are a plus.
