Join Enza Zaden as a Junior Plant Physiologist and contribute to cutting-edge research on life cycle acceleration. This temporary position for 8 months, offers an exciting opportunity to develop innovative cultivation methods and accelerate plant generation cycles.

Make a difference as a Junior Plant Physiologist
As a Junior Plant Physiologist, you will:
• Develop and implement cultivation methods and systems to enhance selection pressure and accelerate plant generation cycles.
• Design, execute, and analyze trials to optimize flowering time and seed quality or refine crop selection based on physiological disorders.
• Explore advanced technologies, such as LED lighting, climate control, hormone treatments, and sensors, to improve climate and cultivation processes.
• Work with a diverse range of crops and collaborate with breeding groups, research teams, and agronomy.
• Engage with external specialists from universities and suppliers to stay at the forefront of plant physiology advancements.
What you bring as a future colleague
• A Master’s degree in Plant Sciences, with a strong foundation in plant physiology.
• Knowledge and experience on abiotic stress, indoor/vertical farming and open-field conditions.
• Knowledge and experience on the use of plant sensors (e.g photosynthesis).
• Analytical skills with proficiency in software tools like R, Genstat, or SPSS.
• Basic lab skills or a willingness to develop these abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
In addition, you are curious, solution-oriented, and proactive in staying updated with industry and academic advancements. You are a resilient team player capable of working independently and collaboratively on projects under pressure.
