Make a difference as Junior Breeder Pumpkin
As a Junior Breeder Pumpkin, you will play a key role in developing new varieties. Your main responsibilities include:

• Observing, evaluating, and selecting in breeding and screening trials.

• Recording, processing, and analyzing breeding and screening data.

• Planning, preparing, and executing breeding project activities.

• Collaborating with an experienced team while working independently on assigned tasks.

• Contributing to a new and data-driven breeding program.

You have a genuine affinity with the organic sector and understand the values and principles that guide sustainable and nature-based approaches to plant breeding. You will not only travel regularly to international project sites, but also collaborate closely with colleagues across different countries, making this a truly global and dynamic role.

You will be part of the Pumpkin Breeding team, reporting to the Breeder.

What you bring as a future colleague

• A Bachelor’s or MSc degree in Applied Biology or Plant Science.

• A passion for plant breeding and data-driven breeding methods.

• Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.

• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• A results-oriented mindset with perseverance.

• Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).

• Willingness to travel a few times per year.
