What are you going to do as an intern at the Seed Quality & Performance team?

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Seed Research and Innovation department for six months starting in January 2025. The internship will focus on studying seed treatment effects on plant growth and defenses against biotic stresses.

You will be responsible for conducting laboratory and greenhouse experiments, imaging analyses, insect and pathogen bioassays, and data analyses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist in ongoing projects within our team.

You are passionate about plant and seed research. You have a plant physiology and/or microbiology background. You are an enthusiastic student who acts on own initiative, sees new possibilities, comes with creative ideas, and shares them with colleagues. You have good communication skills and are a strong team player. Finally, you can work independently as well, and have excellent work planning skills.

In Short, You Meet the Following Requirements

• You are a Msc student in relevant fields such as Plant/Seed Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, and/or Plant Microbiology.

• You have strong research skills, including critical thinking and the ability to interpretate results and write scientific reports.

• Experience with laboratory techniques such as disease detection, DNA extraction, RT-qPCR are a plus, but any other relevant experience for the position will be positively considered as well.

• Experience using R for statistical analysis.

• You are fluent in English (writing and speaking).
