About the Role

Are you passionate about guiding students in ethical reasoning? As a Teacher of Ethics at The European School The Hague, you will have the unique opportunity to engage with all our students, equipping them with critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and a strong ethical foundation. As a Teacher of Ethics, you will:

·         Deliver engaging Ethics lessons to students aged 11-18, following the European Baccalaureate curriculum.

·         Foster students’ critical thinking, ethical awareness, and cultural sensitivity.

·         Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student’s perspective is valued.

·         Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to support a thriving Ethics programme.

·         For the right candidate, the position can include teaching Ethics in more than one language section. We teach classes in English, French, Dutch and German.

What We’re Looking For

·         A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a Humanities or similar subject, and full teaching qualification for Secondary Education (recognized by the Dutch Education Authorities).

·         Experience teaching Ethics, Civics, PHSE, maatschappijleer, levensbeschouwing or a similar subject area, to students aged 11-18, ideally in international or intercultural settings.

·         Proficiency in English at C2 level (CEFR).

·         Proficiency in French, Dutch or German at C2 level is desirable, but not essential.

·         A creative, inclusive approach to teaching and a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.

·         We offer a salary aligned with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement (CAO VO). The salary is a minimum of 3622€ and a maximum of 5520€ for a full-time contract on the LB scale, the step offered will depend on your level of experience.

o    8% holiday allowance (May)
