YOUR ROLE 

Our warehouse campus in Roosendaal is growing, and so is the Engineering team. Therefore, we are looking for a new Project Engineer! As a Project Engineer, you are responsible for guiding improvement projects for existing warehouses and implementation projects for (new) clients. Your innovative ideas contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of our departments. 

You are part of the Operational Excellence department within the campus. Your main location will be one of our warehouse sites in Roosendaal, but you can also be involved in projects within other locations and processes in Roosendaal. Your direct supervisor is the Engineering Lead. Within the campus, you collaborate with a team of engineers with various expertise areas, working together to contribute to the continuous improvement of our campus. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

As a Project Engineer, you work on multiple projects simultaneously, each with varying levels of complexity. This could involve designing a new warehouse layout or implementing an innovation. Your colleagues often see you wearing your work shoes, but you also spend time in the office, guiding project meetings, creating schedules, analyzing data, or reporting. 

For example: You notice that a packaging process is not running smoothly and needs to be more efficient. How do you solve this? You always start by talking to the people on the shop floor about the current process. Is it a problem for them as well? How big do they think the problem is? What else do they notice? And so on. Now that you have a clear understanding of the problem, you return to your desk to check the data to determine how significant the problem actually is. You see that between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM, the packing process slows down significantly! You investigate the cause, come up with a solution, and ensure the right people implement it. Problem solved? You then check if it's truly running better now. You document everything neatly and inform the management. Next! 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

You enjoy optimizing processes within a large logistics environment. You excel at accurately processing, analyzing, and monitoring data. Furthermore, you're comfortable with both internal and external communication. You're resilient to stress and have a mindset that prioritizes continuous improvement. You bring the following knowledge and experience, among others: 

• 3-5 years of work experience in logistics, consultancy, or interim assignments related to logistics and supply chain; 

• Bachelor's/master's degree in business administration, business informatics, or logistics; 

• Experience with project-based work; 

• Proficiency with automated systems; 

• Proficiency with MS Office; 

• Excellent social and communication skills; 

• Proficient in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
