Make a difference as Phytosanitary Specialist
In this role, you will act as the central point of contact for all phytosanitary-related matters, ensuring that every import and export complies with the latest regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining Enza Zaden's reputation for high-quality and compliant seed shipments, working in an environment where precision and expertise are highly valued. Your contributions will directly support the global reach and success of the organization.
As a Phytosanitary Specialist, you will be responsible for:
· Verifying import phytosanitary documentation to meet EU and destination country regulations;
· Managing the dispatch of import orders in coordination with the Import Specialist;
· Identifying and implementing process optimizations, including cost reduction and setting up import/export dashboards;
· Ensuring compliance through transparent communication with stakeholders like Naktuinbouw and NVWA;
· Collaborating with departments such as Seed Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure phytosanitary compliance;
· Accurately entering phytosanitary requirements into the ERP system for seamless operations;
· Training shipping specialists on export requirements and maintaining up-to-date work instructions.
You’ll join a close-knit Phytosanitary team, comprising one Phytosanitary Specialist and one Import Specialist, and report to the Manager of Transport and Customs. You’ll also work closely with the Customer Service team of 25 colleagues, based in Enkhuizen.
What you bring as a future colleague:
· Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in a relevant field;
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English;
· Ability to work effectively across teams and departments;
· Adaptable and detail-oriented with a pragmatic problem-solving approach;
· Experience with ERP systems and customs processes is an advantage;
· Willingness to take on additional tasks to support company goals;
· Additionally, your interpersonal and technical skills will support Enza Zaden’s mission to enhance global seed quality and compliance.
In this role, attention to detail is critical. As a Phytosanitary Specialist, you must have a meticulous and precise approach to your work, ensuring that nothing is overlooked in the complex world of phytosanitary compliance. Your ability to focus on details will help avoid errors that could impact global shipments. Additionally, prior experience in a similar role is essential, giving you a solid foundation to navigate the technical and regulatory aspects of the job with confidence.
Your strong organizational skills, combined with a proactive mindset, ensure you stay ahead of changing regulations and evolving requirements. By leveraging your expertise and careful working style, you will significantly contribute to the seamless and compliant import and export of seeds at Enza Zaden.
