The job

As a key member of our IB learning community, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students as they explore their interests, develop self-awareness, and make informed decisions about their future pathways. You will foster a supportive and forward-thinking environment that empowers students to identify their strengths, understand their opportunities, and build confidence in their abilities.

Working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents, you will provide personalized career and university counselling, helping each student realize their full potential. You will organize and coordinate a variety of activities including career events, skills workshops, guest speakers, university visits, and career fairs. You will also create relevant career materials, such as guides for CV/resumé and cover letter writing.

With a keen interest in career assessments, you will use their results to inform and tailor your guidance to individual student needs. You will develop and deliver engaging presentations for students, staff, and parents, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and supported throughout the career and university planning process.

Additionally, you will manage administrative aspects of university and college applications (e.g., UCAS, CommonApp), support students transferring to other schools, and assist with additional selection tests required for university entry.

Geboden wordt

• A temporary, replacing appointment for the 2025-2026 school year, starting Augustus 2025;
• Salary grading takes place in OOP scale 10 (min. € 3.179,- max € 5.277,-) regarding collective agreement for secondary education (CAO VO);

Profiel kandidaat

• Provide timely and professional career counselling, university guidance and coaching as appropriate over the course of the school year;
• Develop and provide relevant, age-appropriate careers information and resources including career lessons;
• Provide and coordinate appropriate career- profiling tests, aptitude tests and activities including personal debriefing where appropriate, to support career-related decisions and subject choices;
• An understanding of the school’s philosophy, curriculum, policies and procedures, and the impact of these on the delivery of a strategic, effective and relevant careers function;
