Logistics Import Specialist

• Be responsible for inbound shipments from our global production network to our Processing Hub in Enkhuizen. You help safeguard the quality of seed that feeds over 480 million people every day. 

• Design, coordinate and continuously improve the full scope of inbound logistics processes—from transport planning to customs and ERP implementation. 

• Turn insights into action with meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and root cause analyses to optimize delivery performance and cost efficiency. 

• Work closely with production, supply chain, customs, and external partners to ensure quality and speed in everything we deliver

Make a difference as Import Specialist

As our new Logistics Import Specialist, you will be the driving force behind the optimization of Enza Zaden’s global inbound logistics. You will: 

• Plan and monitor inbound shipments, ensuring optimal conditions for maintaining seed quality. 

• Train and guide stakeholders across the chain through clear documentation, dashboards, and knowledge sharing. 

• Set up and maintain performance indicators for producers, freight forwarders, customs partners and receiving. 

• Translate logistics data into improvement plans with measurable business impact. 

• Design and implement standardized import workflows within our ERP system. 

• Select, onboard, and evaluate logistics service providers to maintain a reliable import network. 

You will be part of the Transport & Customs team, reporting to the Manager Transport & Customs. You’ll work closely with internal departments such as Supply Chain, Production, Shipping, and Receiving, as well as external partners including global producers, carriers, and customs authorities. 

This role gives you the opportunity to shape and grow the department. You’ll coach colleagues and serve as a logistics ambassador across the company. 

What you bring as a future colleague

• Higher professional education (HBO) in logistics, supply chain, or business administration;

• At least 6–8 years of experience in international transport and customs, preferably in a complex and regulated sector;

• A data-savvy mindset with proven skills in analyzing and improving logistical processes.;

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to align international teams and external providers;

• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and verbal);

• ERP expertise;

• Cultural awareness and experience working in a global setting.
