Make a difference as Manager Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

As a Manager Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, you will play a pivotal role in driving complex, multi-disciplinary research initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing a team of researchers in the fields of computational biology, bioinformatics, and systems biology.

• Overseeing the development and implementation of computational tools supporting trait and biotechnology research.

• Manage the support of routine data analyses.

• Define the requirements for computational infrastructure and data storage to support multidisciplinary research activities.

• Collaborate with various departments, including trait discovery research, molecular and Cell Technology research, data sciences, and IT.

• Managing projects with clear timelines and deliverables, using Agile or similar methodologies.

• Coach team members and foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

• Translating complex computational analysis into actionable biological insights.

• Presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

• Ability to recognize new opportunities by scouting new techniques and monitoring developments in the field of research.

What you bring as a future colleague

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, or a related field.

• Experience with machine learning, and cloud computing platforms and integrating different types to (omics) data.

• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects with structured methodologies.

• Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams of researchers in the fields of computational biology and bioinformatics.

• ?Skilled at bridging computational and biological domains through clear communication.

• A collaborative mindset and a passion for coaching team members and team development.

You are not only technically strong, but also an effective communicator and team leader. Your ability to align scientific vision with project execution, while fostering a positive and productive team environment, will be key to your success.
