Intern Biotechnology
We are currently looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Biotechnology department for five months starting September 2024. The internship will focus the development and validation of infectious clones for viruses affecting Cucurbits.
What are you going to do?
You will be responsible for optimizing the screening protocols with viruses affecting Cucurbits and get insights on the pathogenicity of these viruses in Cucurbit crops. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist in ongoing projects within our team.
Your Power
You are passionate about phytopathology, and you are an enthusiastic student who acts on own initiative, sees new possibilities, comes with creative ideas and shares them with colleagues. You have good communication skills and are a strong team player. Finally, you can work independently as well, and will stick to a time schedule you have set for yourself.
In short, you meet the following requirements:
You are a 3rd or 4th year BSc student in a relevant field (e.g. Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Sciences)
You are analytical, persevering, eager to learn and a good planner
You are fluent in English (Dutch language skills are a plus)
You are available for 38 hours a week
