Lead Data Management Specialist

Enza Zaden is currently on a mission to be the most data savvy and data driven breeding company in the world and therefore we’re looking for you, a Lead Data Management (DM) Specialist. The opportunities of data, analytics and artificial intelligence for Enza Zaden are evident. It is also clear that we need fit-for-purpose data to realize these opportunities. As our Lead DM specialist, you will be accountable for building and maturing our data management capabilities.  

You will drive the implementation of master data, meta data and data quality management across all departments and teams within Enza.  

You are responsible to achieve fit-for-purpose data by organizing the right goals, priorities, collaborations and focus to deliver. To get this done you: 

• Lead the Data Management team not only on the functional/technical side, but also on the way of working of the team (Agile). This team is part of the Data Insights & Data Innovation department within our IT-organization.

• Are part of the Leadership Team Data Analytics & Reporting (DAR). This team executes and safeguards the data strategy within Enza. 

The most important deliverables, focused on gaining value with fit-for-purpose data, for the upcoming years: 

• Implement our data management tool Informatica enabling mature application of data lineage, business glossary, data quality management and workflows. 

• Establish (master-) data domains with clear ownership, applying data management processes at mature levels.

• Build & expand the data management capability considering both expert roles (within I&D and DAR teams) and business roles. 

We are looking for a person that;

• Is a data management evangelist who promotes the importance of data management to employees at all organizational levels within Enza.

• Plays a leading role in the planning and execution of programs or projects related to DM.  Responsible for timely planning, risk and opportunity identification and initiation of ideas for continuous improvement in these areas.

• Has a thorough understanding of the (technical) possibilities of the data management tooling (Informatica) and know how to make the right design decisions together with Architecture.                  

• Organizes the necessary data management training for employees at all organizational levels within Enza. Actively contribute to this training as a trainer.

 As our lead you will make strategical and tactical proposals and decisions regarding data management. Together with the data management specialist in your team, the DAR managers, and their data stewards you get your plans implemented and put your work into practice. You will also work closely together with our architects, data engineers and other IT professionals with whom you can decide together on important technological questions.  
 

Moreover, you’re be able to work highly independently and you keep oversight of the work of the other team members. You coach less experienced colleagues and are communicatively strong to give support and advice to the data stewards and other users of data management. Finally, you like to share, educate and inform others about the importance of data management.  You keep yourself up to date with trends and developments.

Your power: 

• 10+ years’ work experience including 5+ years data management roles 

• Master's degree in business administration/economics/computer science/Technology/Engineering or other related field or equivalent working experience  

• Proven experience in leading implementations (project- and or program management 

• Proven experience in implementing data governance, data management and related tooling.

• Knowledge of the DAMA BoK framework.

• Great stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills 

• Team player with a positive attitude and can-do mentality to make it work 

• You can set direction and activate yourself, your peers and/or teams to get results 

• You are proficient in the English, both written and verbal
