As a Product Specialist, you will be the vital link between breeding and sales, driving product development and supporting successful variety introductions. In this role, you’ll trial, evaluate, and report on experimental varieties at every stage before commercial releases. You’ll connect with the market, share technical expertise and support sales teams worldwide to advise their customers.
Make a difference as Product Specialist Hydro
In this role, you will:
Connect with hydro markets through commercial sales teams and breeders.
Visit customers and partners in the chain and act as host for counter visits, in order to strengthen partnerships.
Organize and evaluate screening trials with new material from the breeding pipeline and report findings to stakeholders.
Act as the contact person for collaborative projects with stakeholders in the chain.
Exchange technical information with sales teams on hydroponic growing systems, including advice on the right variety in specific conditions.
Organize demo trials and send samples to customers for lettuce, herbs, spinach, and more.
You will work within our R&D department, reporting to the Crop Breeding Manager CEA Leafy, and collaborate closely with sales teams, breeders, and chain partners worldwide.

Strong communication and facilitation skills to connect diverse teams and stakeholders.
Analytical mindset to evaluate trial data and draw actionable conclusions.
Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and maintain clear reporting.
Flexibility and perseverance to stay ahead in a dynamic market.
Curiosity and eagerness to learn about new developments in hydroponics.
Experience in greenhouse horticulture or hydroponic systems.
Proficiency in English; speaking Dutch (or willingness to learn) is a plus.
