Do you want to develop a successful career in Vegetable Seed Production?
Our Seed Production team is managing the global production of our vegetable seeds, including both conventional and biological varieties. We are continually enhancing our methods to ensure the right amount and best quality vegetable seeds, efficiently produced and on-time delivered. Collaborating across various disciplines within dynamic teams, we share a collective passion for vegetable seeds. Our goal is always to provide the best products, meeting the demands of growers worldwide.
As a Production Specialist, you will coordinate the global seed production of our Allium varieties.
Your goal is to achieve the highest possible quality and yield for an optimal price ratio. To achieve this, you provide cultivation technical support and have continuous contact with producers and (international) colleagues about the progress and quality of seed production.
You also work closely with your colleagues from the Seed Supply Team (Supply Chain and Portfolio management). As a team, you make the production plan and determine how and where the seeds are grown. You visit the production locations where you check the cultivation. You collect and register the data in the system and use it for monitoring and analyses.
Our team is young and diverse, and we are eager to welcome an enthusiastic new colleague. You will report directly to the Crop Production Manager.
Your tasks and responsibilities
Coordination of global seed production for Allium varieties, ensuring efficient processes;
Provide agronomic support and maintain communication with producers and international colleagues to monitor seed production progress and quality;
Initiate and manage improvement processes for new production trials;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Research & Development, Seed Operations, and Marketing & Sales to optimize seed availability and quality;
Establish and maintain optimal production conditions for new varieties, while documenting relevant production characteristics;
Collect and register production data in our ERP system for insights into seed availability, research, and analysis, working both remotely and on-site at production locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
Your strength
Your affinity with plants are of great value. Your love for plants, agronomic curiosity, and adeptness at "reading" them empowers you to detect crop issues and implement essential actions for growers. You maintain a good overview and you are skilled in planning and organizing. In international interactions with producers and regional colleagues, your adaptability shines as you like to develop in tailoring your approach to diverse cultures and local conditions.
In short you bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Plant Sciences or (International) Agribusiness Studies;
At least 3 years workexperience in a comparable or related position;
A passion for plants and an eye for plant-related pests and diseases;
