Internship Details

Assignment 1:
Modernizing Enza's Weighing System: From SOAP/XML to a Future-Proof Architecture

The primary goal of this internship is to analyze, design, and propose a modernized solution for the existing Scaleserver-based weighing system. The intern will evaluate the potential of developing a custom-built application to improve system performance, security, and usability.
Make a difference as an Intern
As an Intern within our Information & Digitalization department, your key responsibilities are;
System Analysis:
Analyze the current Scaleserver infrastructure and its limitations.
- Identify security vulnerabilities due to the lack of user authentication.
- Document the manual processes involved in scale registration and the challenges they present.
Solution Design:
- Design a secure and scalable architecture for the new weighing system.
- Propose an automated solution for recording scale registrations.
- Ensure the proposed system includes robust user authentication and activity tracking.
Implementation Plan:
- Develop a roadmap for the implementation of the new system.
- Provide a cost-benefit analysis of the custom development.
Proof of Concept:
- If feasible, build a prototype to demonstrate the functionality of the proposed solution.
Expected Outcomes:
- Comprehensive analysis of the current system.
- Clear comparison of available options for custom-built solutions.

- Basic knowledge of networking and communication protocols (e.g., SOAP/XML, REST APIs).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Assignment 2:
Optimizing Microsoft Power Platform for Enza's Digital Transformation

As an IT intern, you will work closely with our Low-Code Center of Excellence (CoE) to support the setup, management, and optimization of our Microsoft Power Platform. You will contribute to critical projects that improve our Environment Management, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Governance Automation. This hands-on internship provides an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge, develop practical skills, and make a direct impact on our digital transformation journey.
Make a difference as an Intern
As an Intern within our Information & Digitalization department, you will learn the following objectives;
By the end of this internship, you will:
- Understand Power Platform Architecture: Learn how Microsoft Power Platform fits into our digital landscape.
- Implement ALM Processes: Gain hands-on experience in setting up and managing Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
- Establish Governance Standards: Contribute to developing standards and guidelines for sustainable Low-Code development.
- Develop Power Platform Solutions: Build, test, and deploy Power Platform apps with Dataverse, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Enhance Security Practices: Apply best practices for security, access control, and data governance.
Your key responsibilities are;
1. Environment Management & Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
- Assist in defining and structuring separate environments for Development, Testing, and Production.
- Enforce solution-based development using Dataverse instead of unmanaged apps.
- Utilize Azure DevOps or GitHub to implement version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with the CoE to document and optimize ALM processes.
- Monitor environment performance and resource consumption using Power Platform Admin Center.
Key Deliverable:
- A documented ALM process and a functional environment strategy for Power Platform.
2. Standardization & Governance Automation
- Work with the Governance team to define naming conventions for apps, flows, and tables.
- Develop pre-approved templates for UI/UX consistency.
- Document standards and best practices for app development and governance.
- Implement automated policy enforcement using the Power Platform CoE Starter Kit.
- Conduct audits of existing apps to identify non-compliant configurations.
Key Deliverable:
- A governance playbook that outlines standards, guidelines, and monitoring protocols.
3. Technical & Security Capabilities
- Support the setup and configuration of Power Platform environments.
- Implement Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) integration for secure app access.
- Assist in defining and enforcing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Configure audit logging and real-time security alerts.
- Collaborate with the security team to perform security assessments on existing apps.
Key Deliverable:
- A security checklist and access control framework for Power Platform environments.
4. Development & Automation
- Participate in the development of Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps.
- Assist in building Power Automate workflows to automate key business processes.
- Integrate Power Platform apps with external systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, SAP, Workday, SQL Server).
- Apply best practices for app performance optimization and user-friendly UI/UX design.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
Key Deliverable:
- A functional Power Platform application or automated workflow that adds tangible business value.

What you bring as a future colleague
- Currently in the 4th year of an IT Bachelor’s program (Applied Sciences or equivalent).
- Basic understanding of application development, databases, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and collaborative mindset.
Collaboration & Mentorship
During the internship, you’ll be part of our Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) and receive mentorship from experienced professionals. You’ll work closely with:
- Power Platform Developers (technical guidance)
- Security & Governance Officers (governance insights)
- Business Process Owners (real-world application of Low-Code)
- IT Architects (strategic platform integration)
By the end of your internship, you will have:
- Contributed to structuring our Power Platform environments.
- Helped document and implement governance standards.
- Built or enhanced a Power Platform application or workflow.
- Developed technical, analytical, and collaboration skills.
- Gained hands-on experience with Low-Code development in a real-world enterprise environment.
