This is why you want to join us as an Intern Microbials at the Phytopathology department?

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our phytopathology department for six months starting in March or April 2025. The internship will focus on developing bioassays to investigate interactions between plant and beneficial microorganisms. You will be responsible for conducting laboratory works (molecular biology), greenhouse experiments, and data analyses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist in ongoing projects within our team.

You are passionate about plant and microbial research. You have a good understanding about plant science in general and biotechnology. You are an enthusiastic student who acts on own initiative, sees new possibilities, comes with creative ideas, and shares them with colleagues. You have good communication skills and are a strong team player. Finally, you can work independently as well, and have excellent work planning skills.

What you bring as a future Intern

• You are a Msc student in relevant fields such as plant science, biotechnology or/and microbiology.
• You have strong research skills, including critical thinking and the ability to interpretate results and write scientific reports.
• Experience with molecular biology lab techniques, cultivating plants in the greenhouse, but any other relevant experience for the position will be positively considered as well.
• Experience using R for statistical analysis.
• You are fluent in English (writing and speaking).
