We are a leading breeding company. The breeding analytics team develops innovative applications for breeders and researchers. Our applications focus on quantitative genetics and statistics and are connected to our databases with all kinds of data like sensor data, DNA data, Digital Phenotyping data, and more. Our goal is to provide cutting-edge, web-based solutions that enhance the breeding process and drive scientific advancements.

We are seeking a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing user-friendly interfaces for our web-based applications. You will work closely with our development team to ensure seamless implementation and create intuitive and engaging user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design user-friendly interfaces for web-based applications.

• Conduct user research and testing to inform design decisions.

• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps.

• Develop high-fidelity prototypes and mockups.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions.

• Ensure designs are consistent with brand guidelines and enhance user experience.

• Iterate on designs based on user feedback and usability testing.

• Stay up-to-date with UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies.

• Create and maintain design documentation, specifications, and style guides.

• Participate in the creation of UX strategies and processes.

• Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of proven experience as a UX/UI Designer.

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Digital Arts, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of user-centered design projects.

• Hands-on user research to gather insights, identify user needs, and inform design decisions for optimal user experiences.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision.

• Proficiency in UX research tools, such as FigJam, Miro, and HotJar.

• Understanding of accessibility guidelines such as WCAG or ADA.

• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.

• Experience with responsive and adaptive design.

• Excellent visual design skills with a strong understanding of typography, color, and layout.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills to articulate design concepts and decisions.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Relevant UX/UI design certifications, such as Nielsen Norman Group UX Certifications or Google UX Design Certificate.

• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
